John,

I am, admittedly, a policy wonk and I think its vitally important we send people to Congress with a deep depth of knowledge around policy solutions.  AND, we also need to send people to Congress that have a basic set of values that can move our country forward.  Throughout my life I’ve dedicated myself to serving others and this work has been predicated on a set of fundamental values:  the belief in the inherent goodness in people, the notion of the common good, selfless sacrifice and empathy toward others.  

I'm running for Congress because I want to amplify those values in our nation's policies.  I want to amplify the values that I know you share with me.  That is one step we can take, together, to stop the dark forces of fear, anger, hatred and resentment.

As a Senior Executive at the American Red Cross, the Chief Operating Officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and the Chief Operating Officer of Humanity United (an organization that worked to end genocides, mass atrocities and human trafficking) I have seen how ordinary people can do extraordinary things to help others in need.  

I'm humbly asking for your support to send a message of optimism over pessimism, kindness over coldness and caring over cruelty.
