Once again, the Supreme Court is taking up an extreme conservative position, reviewing whether Idaho – and as a result any other state – can make it a crime with a prison term of up to five years to anyone who performs or assists in an abortion.
This is morbid. This is not a way to start the New Year on the right foot.
And like the horrific stories out of Texas, Ohio, and elsewhere, this is a nightmare scenario that is becoming all too common in American life.
No politician, attorney general, or judge should come between you and your doctor.
I’m thankful here in Michigan Governor Whitmer has done everything she can to protect reproductive freedom. But we need to take back the House to enshrine Roe v. Wade into law, and end these attacks on our rights.
