I hope you are staying healthy and safe. Though, we are focused on COVID 19 right now, I want to give you an update on the Census. Invitations to participate in the 2020 Census have been sent out to households across the country, including in Colorado, and we wanted to make sure you have all the information you need. As we practice social distancing and work to flatten the curve, it’s a great time to complete the Census.

Questionnaires can be submitted online and we encourage everyone to complete their online questionnaire as soon as possible. The sooner the Census Bureau starts to receive completed questionnaires, the easier it will be to record answers.
If you do not receive an online invitation to complete your questionnaire, paper versions will also be available and should arrive in mailboxes between April 8 and 16.
Telephone assistance is available seven days a week from 5:00am to 11:00pm MDT for those who prefer to respond by phone. Or you can visit 2020census.gov for more information.

It’s more important now than ever that we create a government that serves and represents every community. This starts with having an accurate count of every person living in this country.

TAKE THE PLEDGE Despite efforts by Donald Trump and his administration to put a citizenship question on this year’s census, you will not be asked to list your country of birth. Every person, regardless of citizenship, has a right to be counted and feel safe doing so.

The Census only happens once a decade which means if we do not all participate in 2020, we will have to wait another 10 years to build a representative government.
