Good morning,

Here is the Texas Minute for Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Gov. Abbott Says NYC Mayor Adams Should Sue President Biden New York City Mayor Eric Adams is suing the bus companies being used to ship illegal aliens to his city by Gov. Greg Abbott. For his part, Abbott says Adams is suing the wrong parties. Will Biagini has the story [[link removed]].

“If the mayor is really trying to cut down on the number of illegal immigrants coming into New York, he needs to be suing Joe Biden, not these bus companies,” said Abbott [[link removed]] in an interview with Fox News.

Adams’ lawsuit targets 17 charter bus companies to pay for all expenses that NYC incurred as a result of the illegal aliens transported from Texas to the city. Among the companies mentioned in the lawsuit are Buckeye Coach, Carduan Tours, Classic Elegance Coaches, Coastal Crew Change Company, Ejecutivo Enterprises Inc., and El Paso United Charters.

Abbott announced on Dec. 29 that under his program, Texas has sent more than 33,600 illegal aliens to New York City since August 2022. Texas Rancher: Biden Administration ‘Traitors’ Texas rancher Wayne King, whose property is near Eagle Pass, is calling out Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and President Joe Biden for allowing the border crisis to rage on. As Emily Medeiros reports [[link removed]], the rancher has described Biden as "an absolute traitor."

King has experienced firsthand the problems created by illegal aliens being allowed to flood across the border by the Biden administration.

A new Texas law that would allow state and local officials to arrest individuals who enter the country illegally is being challenged by the Biden administration.

"Our governor is trying to protect us and take care of us here on our own homeland, but yet our federal government is going to try and keep him from doing it. Treason." – Wayne King [[link removed]] ‘Slippery Dade’ is Hiding Impeachment Costs Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is ramping up his criticism of House Speaker Dade Phelan for failing to comply with a requested audit of the cost of the chamber’s impeachment of Attorney General Ken Paxton. Brandon Waltens has the details [[link removed]].

An audit of both chambers’ expenses was requested after the trial by Patrick. While open records requests revealed a cost of at least $4.3 million by the House, they have so far not complied with the audit.

"Slippery Dade’s intentions are clear: hide the actual cost of the impeachment from the public. I will not let this go away. Texas taxpayers must know how much Dade’s failed political gambit cost them. Texans deserve the truth." – Dan Patrick [[link removed]] UPDATE: Security Experts Say Concerns Remain Over A&M's Qatar Campus A report calling into question Texas A&M’s protection of sensitive research was met by a denial from university President Mark Welsh. However, the security experts who issued the warnings say there is a lot Americans should be concerned about in the A&M deal. Sydnie Henry has the update [[link removed]].

At issue is the Texas A&M campus in the Muslim kingdom of Qatar. Research by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy found that the royal family's funding has resulted in full Qatari ownership of over 500 research projects.

The institute said they believe the university needs more transparency regarding its dealings with Qatar's government, which has reportedly maintained close ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood. 🔒 Donate to Texas Scorecard 🔒 [[link removed]] Today in History
