** Thank you and Happy New Year!
------------------------------------------------------------

The Fall Campaign has come to a close, thank you for your generosity. We appreciate the extra efforts of corporate employees who boosted their gifts by enlisting their company matching programs.

Your donations have funded our ability to bring art to more children - to fuel their creative expression and learning, to help them heal and foster empathy, and to evoke self-confidence and joy! May the new year inspire us all to embrace our own creativity and experience the joy that participating in the arts can bring.

With gratitude and appreciation, Mary

Happy New Year to our friends and supporters! As we reflect on the great work achieved in 2023, together we accomplished amazing things. We developed powerful programs, held popular art events, and brought art education to over 76,000 students. We are so grateful to the classroom teachers, parent volunteers, and after-school program team members who taught Art in Action in 2,433 classrooms. None of this is possible without your contributions and support.

Abbey shares, “I started my journey in education as a teacher in one of Oakland’s only arts-focused high schools. I saw firsthand how the arts prompt student voice, positive social identities, & creative problem-solving. Now after 20 years in Bay Area public schools, I’m excited to dedicate my experience and expertise to the long-term success of Art in Action.”

** Strength in
Community Partnerships
------------------------------------------------------------

The San Bruno Community Foundation's goal to enhance the quality of life for the San Bruno community is evident in the list of local community organizations funded by the Foundation. Foundation funds enabled Art in Action to bring art programs to San Bruno elementary school children for 3 consecutive school years.

In partnership with San Bruno Park Elementary School District Superintendent Duffy, school principals, and teachers, kindergarten through 5th-grade students are enjoying art, one student expressed that it is "calming and relaxing to paint our artwork". Thank you SBCF for helping us establish this community partnership with the school district.

"..art is starting to bloom again in our classroom.”
-Sara-Maria Menendez, Principal at Belle Air Elementary School
