John-
The COVID-19 (a.k.a. coronavirus) pandemic has exposed the injustice that millions of workers--mostly women--in the U.S. are unable to take time off because they do not have any paid sick or family medical leave. This pandemic is a public health crisis and we must enact mandatory paid sick and family medical leave for all U.S. workers--not just in response to COVID-19, but permanently.
Tell Congress to pass universal paid sick leave and paid family medical leave--permanently.
Nearly a dozen states--and 24 cities--have passed mandatory paid sick leave. Studies have shown that incidents of the flu have decreased by about 40% in these jurisdictions.
1 in 3 U.S. workers in the private sector don't have paid sick days, the majority of whom are women and low-wage workers. Having no access to paid sick leave or family medical leave endangers the health of workers, their families, their co-workers, and the general public.
