A significant winter storm will create blizzard conditions across higher terrain Wednesday. Heavy snow is likely across much of the western elevations, with lighter accumulations possible even into the lowlands and valleys. The NOAA/National Weather Service forecast [ [link removed] ] calls for steady *winds in the 20-30 mph range with gusts as high as the mid-40 mph range*. Please note that a wind forecast for four days ahead is subject to change so please watch your weather updates.

*Flood [ [link removed] ]* - Damage from flooding exceeds damage by all other natural hazards in Washington State.?

*Landslide* [ [link removed] ] - Landslide is the movement of rock, soil and debris down a hillside or slope. Landslides take lives, destroy homes, businesses, and public buildings, interrupt transportation, undermine bridges, derail train cars, cover clam and oyster beds, and damage utilities.?
?
*Severe Storm* [ [link removed] ] - All areas of Washington State are vulnerable to severe weather. A severe storm is an atmospheric disturbance that results in one or more of the following phenomena: strong winds, large hail, thunderstorm, tornado, rain, snow, or freezing rain. ?
?
A *Wind Advisory [ [link removed] ]* is issued when strong winds above 20 mph are predicted with possible gusts above 40 mph. Note that the higher winds can be generally located in the areas north and west of the Puget Sound area, so we expect the strongest gusts there, but we could still have very elevated winds in your area.

A *Flood Watch* [ [link removed] ] is in effect when the potential for flooding due to prolonged moderate to heavy rains.
