As you may know, Speaker Mike Johnson led the largest congressional delegation ever to the southern border last week. My Republican colleagues visited Eagle Pass, Texas to see first-hand how the Biden Border Crisis has wreaked havoc on our communities. The Biden Administration cannot ignore the crisis any longer. 

Since my trip to Eagle Pass in July of 2022, the crisis has reached a breaking point. While the administration continues to ignore the issue and deflect responsibility, House Republicans have taken historic action by passing H.R. 2, the strongest border package in American history. Make no mistake, House Republicans will continue to prioritize the safety of our citizens by fighting to secure the border. 

I was saddened to learn of the tragic passing of two law enforcement officers in the Third District. Sgt. Marc McIntyre of Spalding County and Deputy Sheriff Eric Minix of Coweta County were recently killed in the line of duty. These brave men made the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities safe. Please join me in praying for their family and loved ones. 

Today is also Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. As we honor the lives of Sgt. McIntyre and Deputy Sheriff Minix, may we also remember the men and women across the Third District who put themselves in harm's way every day to keep us safe. Thank you for your bravery and dedication. I will always be proud to #BacktheBlue.
