Last night, like the rest of Michigan, I watched with bated breath as the Wolverines capped off an undefeated season, beating the Huskies and winning the National Championship for the first time since 1997. Governor Whitmer has declared today the official “Wolverine Day” in honor of the occasion.
There is no doubt that, as the representative of Michigan State, I bleed Spartan green. But, at the end of the day, we’re all Michiganders, and I for one am always happy to see our state come out on top – especially against a team from the coast. And with Michigan taking the Championship, the Lions in the playoffs this upcoming weekend, the Red Wings on a three game streak, and the Pistons pulling off a recent win – there is a TON to be proud of here in Michigan.
While the Wolverines can take a much deserved break and celebrate their victory, Team Slotkin is full steam ahead. We’re onboarding new staff this week, settling into our new HQ, and traversing the state to talk to voters, no matter what color they wear on game day.
We’ve got a lot of work to do to make sure the state of Michigan says “Go Blue” once again on November 5th. Our race is a dead heat, and our opponents are preparing to spend millions of dollars to flip the seat red. Will you chip in to my campaign?

Thank you, and GO BLUE!
