Thanks to the support of people like you, we finished 2023 stronger than ever! The NhRP community came together to achieve our fundraising goal and even went above and beyond. In total, we raised OVER $230,000 to fund our vital work for nonhuman animals thanks to supporters like you and the matching funds of our generous partner.
We’re blown away by how you came through to support our work, and we’re truly grateful that you’re with us in this movement. Because of you, we can continue to fight for the rights of nonhuman animals who are suffering within the confines of zoos, circuses, and roadside attractions and create hope for a better future for all animals.

Last week, our team regrouped to dive into our 2024 projects, and we have big things in store. Here’s a peek behind-the-scenes at what we've been planning:
First, we’ll head to Hawaii to make our case on behalf of the Honolulu Zoo elephants [[link removed]] . We’re also connecting with local legislators to pass more animal rights legislation, inspired by our work on the first-of-its-kind elephant rights bill [[link removed]] in Ojai. We’ll also continue to share elephant stories on Free To Be Elephants [[link removed]] —our new educational resource that has already reached thousands of people with the truth about how elephants suffer in zoos. We’re filing appeals on behalf of our chimpanzee clients in Michigan [[link removed]] and our elephant clients in Colorado [[link removed]] to make sure that they get the justice they deserve. And, w e’ll take on new clients in groundbreaking new cases—stay tuned for more.
The NhRP is the only organization dedicated solely to securing legal rights for nonhuman animals, and we’re able to work relentlessly and effectively towards this goal because we have you on our side. As always, we’ll keep you informed on the latest developments and ways to support the movement for nonhuman rights. From all of us at the NhRP, thank you for an incredible 2023. Here’s to 2024!
