Dear Friends,

The events of the past few weeks have strained us all, and I want you to know that you're not alone -- we’re all worried about friends, family, and loved ones. COVID-19 impacts us all, and how we respond will help not just Iowans, but our entire global community.

I strongly encourage everyone to do their part to slow the spread of this virus. Wash your hands often, with soap, for a minimum of twenty seconds. If you can, limit your exposure to as few people as possible -- particularly those over the age of 60 -- since we can be sick and not know it. Our heroes on the frontlines don’t have this option, so it's on all of us to make it easier for them to do their jobs safely. And please do not go out if you are sick, period.

Visit the CDC website for more complete information, how you can help slow the spread, and what to do if you think you have COVID-19.

In Congress, we’re doing as much as we can, as quickly as we can, to stem the tide of this virus and ensure Americans have the resources to protect themselves. But aside from my work in Washington, I’ve instituted a series of policies to do a small bit more:

  • Our campaign staff are all working remotely
  • We’ve canceled organizing events and in-person events
  • We’re moving much of our reelection effort into the digital space for the time being (you’ll hear more from us on this in the coming days)

I hope you and your loved ones are safe. It may seem bleak right now, but by working together -- not just Democrats or Republicans, but our entire country -- we will make it though.

I look forward to staying in touch online, and eventually in person.

Warmest regards,

Abby
