John,I am reaching out to you today to address a critical issue that continues to challenge the integrity of our democracy: Disinformation about elections.

Since 2020, we’ve seen a coordinated push to convince Americans that the last presidential election was “stolen” - a false and poisonous proposition.

Fortunately, a recent op-ed by Ken Block (who was hired by the Trump campaign in 2020 to investigate claims of voter fraud) unequivocally concludes that the 2020 presidential election was not stolen. Block emphasizes that no credible evidence of voter fraud exists that would change the election's outcome.

Despite this clarity, and a wealth of evidence proving the legitimacy of the 2020 election, the baseless claims persist. From stump speeches to outrageous lawsuits, the relentless push to delegitimize the election poses a threat to the truth.

My job as Secretary of State has never been more important. Since before 2020, I have consistently fought back against false claims and disinformation that erode trust in our democracy.

Leading with the truth is going to be more important than ever this year as Minnesotans start voting in the presidential election in just over a week. Block rightly points out that claims of voter fraud lack the essential elements of detectability, quantifiability, and verifiability. In essence, there is no substantive evidence supporting these allegations.
