** The days of telling us what types of washing machines and dishwashers we can use will soon come to an end.
------------------------------------------------------------
Washington Examiner ([link removed]) (1/9/24) reports: "A federal court on Monday declared that President Joe Biden’s team went too far in imposing new water and energy regulations on the two machines that make life easier, dishwashers and washing machines. In ruling against Biden, the New Orleans-based 5th Circuit Court of Appeals said former President Donald Trump’s administration got it right when it moved to let consumers choose between machines that take longer and use less water and those that can do the job in an hour or less. The 25-page opinion was a victory for anti-regulatory groups and consumer choice advocates. It might also have been a win for the environment because the court agreed that lots of people avoid using the green machines because they don’t work well. The court said the Biden rules 'make Americans use more energy and more water for the simple reason that purportedly
‘energy efficient’ appliances do not work. So Americans who want clean dishes or clothes may use more energy and more water to preclean, reclean, or hand-wash their stuff before, after, or in lieu of using DOE-regulated appliances.'"

** "Despite the perils of ‘green’ energy dependence shown throughout Europe, the eco-left continues to double down on ridding America of traditional energy sources."

Winters in New England are cold. Big Green, Inc. is colder.

** Wall Street Journal ([link removed])
(1/9/24) reports: "America is the world’s largest natural-gas producer, but New Englanders’ capacity to stay warm in winter may hinge on the fate of an expensive, 53-year-old import plant that its owner has threatened to shut down. Constellation Energy plans to retire a Massachusetts power plant at the end of May. That will eliminate the biggest user of the liquefied natural gas, or LNG, that is imported through the company’s neighboring Everett Marine Terminal. Constellation said it is trying to line up new gas buyers to keep the terminal running. If it cannot, it will likely close the import facility as well. But New England utilities rely on imported LNG to keep them supplied in winter when demand peaks. Without it, severe cold could leave them, and their customers, in a bind, the utilities have said in public hearings and in letters to regulators...New England residents paid about 43% more for natural gas in the first quarter of 2023 than the U.S. average, according to the Energy
Information Administration. Weaning off those supplies without shortages during the coldest days is also emblematic of the challenges involved in a smooth transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy."

When the grid falls apart in New England, at least President Obama will be warm and toasty while he lectures us about climate change.

** Daily Caller ([link removed])
(6/15/22) reported: "Former President Barack Obama has ordered three massive propane tanks for his Martha’s Vineyard property as energy prices nationwide continue to surge. The office of the select board of Edgartown, Massachusetts, told The Daily Caller News Foundation that an application for an 'underground propane installment was approved at the 79 Turkeyland Cove Road address,' the location of a property owned by former President Barack Obama. The tanks are to be used for 'residential purposes,' the office told TheDCNF, and have a total capacity approved of '2,500 gallons which was broken into two 1,000 gallon tanks and one 500 gallon tank.'...Obama has consistently argued for the importance of fighting climate change and limiting fossil fuel emissions, saying that “no challenge poses a greater threat to our children, our planet, and future generations than climate change” and pledging to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 26-28% below 2005 levels by 2025. In 2021, Obama spoke at the
COP26 climate change summit, saying “our planet has been wounded by our actions,” specifically related to rising global temperature trends. "

Gas stoves, dishwashers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, cars. What doesn't Governor Gavin want to take away from his fellow Californians? No wonder his father-in-law moved to Florida.

** Fox News ([link removed])
** ([link removed])
(1/6/23) reports: "Americans in Silicon Valley are torn about whether the long-term climate impact is worth Democratic officials' green-fueled consumer regulations as gas-powered lawn equipment is phased out for electric yard tools. 'It sounds like pandering to a base,' Ken, of San Jose, California, told Fox News. 'It creates a false sense of security.'..A California law is requiring newly-manufactured small off-road engines, including primarily leaf blowers, lawn mowers and other lawn or garden equipment, to produce zero emissions starting in 2024 as part of the blue state's green-fueled regulations. The law, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2021, doesn’t prohibit the use of existing gas-powered lawn tools but begins to phase out the equipment for certain electric machines in 2024, raising concerns for some Americans about consumer choice as they face growing restrictions on gas stoves and traditional cars...Critics have said regulating or eliminating gas-powered products is federal
overreach and harms consumer choice. Others have raised ethical concerns about alleged forced child labor in poor conditions to produce batteries."
