Friends, amidst global turmoil, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin quietly embarked on a four-day undisclosed medical leave following elective surgery, a move that evolved into complications without prior notification to the higher echelons of command.
This is the same Defense Secretary at the helm during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, marred by the tragic loss of 13 service members and the resurgence of Taliban-Al Qaeda rule.
Both Democrats and Republicans in the House Armed Services Committee are now demanding transparency regarding Austin’s hospitalization, raising questions about the delayed disclosure of his condition. Committee Chairman Mike Rogers and ranking member Rep. Adam Smith express their concern and call for "additional details" on the medical procedure, complications, Austin’s current health, and the process of delegating his responsibilities.
