Friends,

Guess what! We did it! Because of your hard work and generous support we hit our fundraising target for the year! I’m so grateful to each and every one of you who donated, called friends to donate, introduced me to contacts, hosted events, and spread the word.

We have had over 2,500 individual donors for our campaign, the vast majority of which came from within the district. This is truly a grassroots movement powered by you!

We needed to hit this target to be considered for early national investments and national party support in the race. Because of you, not only did we hit our target, we actually went further and raised almost 10 percent more than we targeted.

I know the fundraising emails were a little overwhelming from us. But going into the last week of the year, I was still over $90K short of our end of year target. It would not have been possible for us to close that gap without the support of the hundreds of donors who contributed in the final hours of the quarter.

You should have seen the campaign HQ team, we subsisted off chips and leftover Christmas cookies for the week. As we closed in on our target we gave a collective cheer every time a donation came through. I hope you felt these bursts of gratitude and elation from your generous support.

One of our supporters offered her home in Tahoe for us to convert into a campaign HQ for the week. As you can imagine, asking people for money all day can be hard. So I stationed myself at one of the most beautiful parts of our district to remind myself what we are fighting for. A district this special deserves a representative willing to protect it.

We have more work to do, but I wanted to take this time and space to thank you and congratulate you for your work to help us reach our goal and get our race on the national radar.

It feels good to be emailing with good news, and with your continued support, there’ll be more to share in the weeks and months ahead!
