Dear John,

Health insurance is a big deal.

Government administrations rise and fall over it. People organize their jobs, finances, and even their lives around health insurance coverage for their families. You probably know the feeling well.

So what happens when the government tells you that the money you pay for your health insurance could be used to fund the killing of an innocent child?

That’s the situation that employees of March for Life found themselves in following the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) by the Obama administration in 2010.

Through the ACA, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) created an abortion pill mandate attempting to force many employers to provide employees with abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception through their health plans. If they refused, they faced heavy financial penalties.

This mandate was the subject of numerous lawsuits—including one ADF filed on behalf of March for Life.

Thankfully, the U.S. Supreme Court already ruled in favor of making accommodations so that closely-held, for-profit employers would not be forced to violate their convictions. Then the Trump administration issued new HHS rules to exempt employers with a religious or moral objection from the requirement and resolve outstanding lawsuits.

Sounds like a good, commonsense solution, doesn’t it?

But before the new rules could go into effect, a handful of pro-abortion states sued the Trump administration.

These government officials want to force employers to violate their convictions and provide abortifacients to their employees if they have religious or moral objections to abortion. Even an employer like March for Life, whose very reason for existence is to oppose abortion!

This is abortion activism masquerading as a function of the law, John.

Pro-abortion government officials—and their mega-buck donors like Planned Parenthood—want to punish those who share your pro-life beliefs. And they’re willing to abuse their political influence and power to make it happen.

But state governments have no business imposing a pro-abortion agenda. And they certainly shouldn’t be attacking the freedoms of their citizens!

That’s why the March for Life has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to stop this nonsense.

Generous Ministry Friends have provided a $325,000 challenge grant to inspire you to help protect our most cherished freedoms—including the right to life. Will you give today to further the impact for freedom during this critical time?

The pro-abortion lobby is all about force—not “choice”

March for Life is one of the oldest and best-known pro-life organizations in the country. To say that March for Life opposes abortion is an understatement. That opposition is the organization’s mission.

It should go without saying that an organization whose sole purpose is to oppose the tragedy of abortion should not have to fund insurance that covers abortion-inducing drugs.

But pro-abortion officials in a handful of states think otherwise. They’re wielding their power and political influence to advance an extreme pro-abortion agenda that denies people like you the right to live out their conscience.

It’s a gross violation of freedom, and that’s why we’ve asked the U.S. Supreme Court to step in.

How these pro-abortion state governments can continue to endorse abortion under the guise of “choice,” while simultaneously trying to force pro-life individuals to violate their conscience, is baffling.

Clearly the pro-abortion lobby is all about force—not choice.

That’s why they continue to waste taxpayer dollars on a crusade that defies logic and personal freedoms.

As freedom-loving Americans, we cannot roll over when it comes to defending our sincerely held beliefs. Especially on a topic as emotional as the killing of babies in the womb.

It’s time to act. Please make your best gift today to stand up to pro-abortion government officials and their cronies, and to defend conscience protections at the U.S. Supreme Court.

When we stand together, we can win!

Government officials have no right to demand that organizations provide health insurance plan options that explicitly contradict their mission—and the beliefs of their employees.

But abortion groups like Planned Parenthood regularly spend tens of millions of dollars to elect pro-abortion candidates. This abortion cronyism reaches the highest levels of government. That means attacks on your pro-life brothers and sisters will not stop.

John, imagine how many lives would be lost without groups like March for Life working on the front lines to defend unborn children.

This is what Planned Parenthood and its allies want—what they’re working toward. They’re trying to shut down the pro-life community at every turn, and they’re not afraid to use their massive fortunes and political influence to do it.

Because sometimes, the only thing standing between abortionists and their profit is the pro-life community.

ADF is committed to defending your pro-life brothers and sisters in court when their freedoms are threatened, so they can continue to help where they’re needed most—on the front lines. That’s how we do our part to save lives and give hope.

But this vital work is only possible with God’s blessing (John 15:5) and your prayers and support, John.

Together we have an opportunity to secure another important win at the U.S. Supreme Court—for March for Life and all of us who believe in the freedom to live according to our conscience.

And when we stand together—we can WIN.

Thanks be to God we’re winning nearly 80 percent of our cases, including ten victories at the U.S. Supreme Court since 2011.

Today, you can push back against those who are abusing their power to advance an extreme abortion agenda.
