It’s no surprise that Trump and his administration have utterly failed in their response to the COVID-19 pandemic. For years, Trump has scoffed at scientists’ warnings and prioritized corporations over the needs of people and the planet. He’s dismissed both climate change and the coronavirus, calling them hoaxes.
And for years, Friends of the Earth members like you have fought back, not just against Trump but the systems that enable him. Together we’re building a radically different world, where we change how we produce our energy, grow our food, conduct our democracy, organize our economies, and more.

Even under Trump’s corrupt administration -- which is handing our food system, public lands, and oceans over to corporations bent on destruction in the name of profit -- we’ve secured important victories.
Together in the past few years, we’ve blocked and delayed dirty federal energy projects and kept fossil fuels in the ground -- including the Jordan Cove fossil fuel export terminal and the Keystone XL pipeline. We’ve successfully fought back the Pebble Mine in Alaska, and Energy Secretary Rick Perry’s ludicrous proposal to bail out failing coal and nuclear projects.
We’ve won even while Trump tries to dismantle our bedrock environmental laws and silence communities across the nation fighting corporate polluters.
And we’re not just winning at the federal level. Just in the past few years, we’ve been passing legislation at the state level and pushing corporations to change, achieving numerous bans and phasing out toxic pesticides, and protecting waterways, shutting down dangerous nuclear plants, promoting public banks, divesting from destructive palm oil, and more.
Now, we’re working round-the-clock to stop Trump from exploiting coronavirus to bail out Big Oil. In the past two weeks, we have led the environmental community’s charge to ensure that subsidies to fracking companies aren’t included in the coronavirus aid package. And we’re making sure that other polluters like the cruise ship industry don’t use this crisis to get corporate bailouts -- especially at the expense of aid to vulnerable communities.
We’re winning because of you. And this isn’t just about Trump: He’s a symptom, not the root cause.
