John, I just finished live on air with Rachel Maddow’s MSNBC program.

We discussed the January 6 anniversary on Saturday and what we’ve learned in the three years since.

For Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee, the answer: practically nothing. Or maybe they learned that the Big Lie really works for them.

The RNC devoted part of the anniversary to attacking me as a “conspiracy theorist” and “national security risk.”

Trump referred to the jailed rioters as “hostages.”

After watching Proud Boys, white nationalists, and QAnon conspiracy theorists fight the police and rampage through the Capitol, they want to reinvent these people as some kind of freedom fighters. It would be laughable, if it weren’t so dangerous and if so many people didn’t believe them.
