Hello,
In this week’s edition, I explain the connection between the Christian notion of resurrection and a voluntary confrontation with fear. Then, I talk with English actor, musician, broadcaster, and party leader Laurence Fox about his current canceling, arrest, and litigation. From the archives, I address how going to the gym and changing diets every January connect to the difficulty of regulating yourself.
Advice
The Spirit Of Transformation
If you can find the dragon that lurks in the deepest cavern, then you will find the place the gold is hoarded. The Christian notion of resurrection is an extension of that corpus of ideas because it is predicated on the belief that if you forthrightly confronted the whole panoply of the horrors of death in its multiple forms — death, betrayal, and the catastrophe of the mob — then what you would see as a consequence is not so much eternal darkness as the eternal resurrection of the light.
On the psychological front, that is definitely a truism, both in the narrative domain and in the practical, clinical domain. If you can find it within yourself to voluntarily shoulder the burden of confronting what you are afraid of, you definitely get braver and more competent. Some of that is because you become informed about yourself, but you also experience biological transformations.
If you voluntarily face a stressor, entirely different psycho-physiological systems are manifested in you as a consequence of the voluntary confrontation that would be manifest if that stressor was, instead, imposed on you involuntarily. A whole different spirit inhabits you. A genuinely different spirit that inhabits you and makes itself manifest all the way from the cellular level upward. The habitual practice of an attitude of voluntary confrontation can switch on new genes. It does not just happen conceptually; it actually transforms you physiologically.

A More Reliable And Meaningful Aim Than Happiness
If you set up a utopia so that all people had to do was eat cakes and busy themselves with the continuation of the species, after a surfeit of that, which would happen quite quickly, people would go mad, just to break things so something unexpected and remarkable could happen. We are not built for security and safety but for, let’s call it, adventure.

You Are Already Living in 1984 | Laurence Fox | EP 411
This week, I speak with English actor, musician, broadcaster, and party leader Laurence Fox. We discuss his current canceling, arrest, and litigation, the globalist scheming of London's current mayor, Sadiq Khan, the ironic expansion of surveillance cameras across England, and the state of Western Democracy when removed from humor, art, and nuance.

It’s More Difficult To Rule Yourself Than To Rule A City
As a social scientist, I have learned the importance of being careful of doing large-scale experimentation with large-scale systems. That said, bringing yourself under the control of a well-structured and ethical structure of values is quite difficult. Changing your diet and going to the gym every January proves that regulating yourself is incredibly challenging.
