My likely opponent Scott Baugh recently stated that “wokism” is the greatest threat America has ever faced.

This weeks marks three years since the January 6 insurrection, so let me correct Mr. Baugh. The biggest threat we are facing right now is fascism and the Big Lie of election fraud promulgated by Donald Trump. And he has NOT ONCE denounced this.

No matter how hard Donald Trump and his acolytes may try to gaslight us, the January 6 insurrection was not a peaceful protest. As is becoming clearer every day, this was a coordinated plot to overturn the results of the 2020 election, using violence and fake electors to try to keep Trump in office.

And with election deniers like Baugh on the ballot this year, we need resources to battle back against their lies and disinformation.

As someone who has spent my career upholding the rule of law, whether as a young SEC lawyer prosecuting Wall Street fraud or as a law professor at UC Irvine, I'll keep fighting for our democracy and what's right when I'm elected to Congress.
