Dear John,
Yesterday marked one year since I was sworn into the House of Representatives, becoming the first woman and openly LGBTQ+ member of Congress to represent Vermont. It has been the honor of my life to serve you all and fight for the Green Mountain State, and I will never take this office for granted.
You may remember that the incoming freshman class was expected to be sworn in to Congress days earlier — but following chaos and disarray within the Republican conference, it took fifteen voters and four days until Republicans finally elected a speaker on the 16th try.
McCarthy lasted less than nine months as speaker before being ousted by his own party. Then, the GOP failed to fill the speaker role for three weeks, leaving the House at a total standstill. Instead of taking stock of their party’s dysfunction and extremism, “moderate” Republicans pointed fingers at Democrats for their own chaos. 🙄
As I reflect back on my first year in office, I am more determined than ever to fight like hell to take back the House majority this November. Republicans have shown that they have no interest in actually governing our country, and enough is enough.
The only sustainable solution to ending this chaos in the people’s house is to ensure that we take back the House of Representatives this year. Will you make a donation of $27 or more to my re-election campaign today?

I’m incredibly grateful for your support, John.
