Commerce hosts webinar on first phase of climate action planning

Join us Monday, Jan. 29th, 2024, at 10 a.m. for a quarterly public webinar to learn about the progress of Washington?s Climate Pollution Reduction Planning Grant.

Background

In June, Washington was awarded $3 million for Phase 1 of the Climate Pollution Reduction Grant (CPRG) as one of many federal funding opportunities created through the?Inflation Reduction Act?and run through the U.S.?Environmental Protection Agency?(EPA). Learn more the EPA website.

In Phase 1, the CPRG provides federal funding to state governments, municipalities, tribes, and territories to develop implementation climate action plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other harmful air pollutants.

Webinar Information

This webinar will focus on Washington?s Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP). The PCAP will include a regional greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and a list of priority GHG reduction measures to maximize greenhouse gas reductions, air quality, and equity-related benefits.

CPRG Staff will provide an overview of the grant timeline, deliverables, engagement opportunities, and upcoming next steps.
