Dear john,
Today, I announced $545,000 in federal funding for Serving Children and Adults in Need’s (SCAN) Familias Unidas Project to help teenagers and young adults combat substance use disorders. This is the third allocation of funding since FY21, bringing the total award amount to $1,635,000. Funding for the Project will continue until FY26, with the projected final total expected to be $2,725,000.
The Familias Unidas Project will serve adolescents and transitional-aged youth with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders. The funding will also support their families and primary caregivers with tools to combat these illnesses. A total of 500 individuals will benefit from this award.
With SCAN’s vigilance in providing care for our youth and young adults, these individuals can get the help they need and get their lives back on track. I will continue to support SCAN with federal funding to ensure that the organization has the proper resources to support mental health and substance abuse treatments.
