My name is Tom Suozzi, and I’m running in the toss-up special election on February 13 to replace the expelled George Santos.

If you want to know why I’m running for this must-win seat, it’s for my family. My parents taught my siblings and me to work hard, play by the rules, and help others. The hairstyles and patterns from back then may be a bit dated, but the values are timeless. My parents built the American Dream for us here on Long Island and I’m so thankful they did.

Now as I look to my own kids, the American Dream is out of reach for so many. Endless bickering in Congress is preventing us from solving critical problems like climate change and the cost of living. We need to get back on track to build an America that the next generation can thrive in.
