‌ ‌ ‌ During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Let's show an Epidemic of Kindness Advice to Make the Best of a Challenging Situation with Kindness, Gratitude, and Optimism Friends, There's no question that these coming days, weeks, and maybe even months are going to present new challenges with COVID-19, but with these new challenges come new opportunities. Our response to these trying times can mean all the difference. When we look back on this journey, I hope and pray that we can each say we did our best to respond with kindness, gratitude, and selflessness. Remember, this is temporary, but the lessons learned and good habits developed are lasting. Look for the silver lining if you're home bound. It could mean: More time available to spend connecting with family (play board games, make meals together, watch movies, enjoy crafts, go on bike rides, learn a new skill) Opportunities to complete projects on your "to-do" list Focusing on personal and family health and wellness (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) Look for opportunities to show kindness and apply the Golden Rule to help others: Practice social distancing (this is an intentional act of kindness!) Offer to get groceries and needed items for those who are sick. Be sure to thank those on the front lines of this pandemic (doctors, nurses...anyone who must continue to interact with the public daily). Send a note, e-mail, or social post encouraging others around you. (Random Posts of Kindness are free and available for your use.) In all cases, please remember to follow CDC recommended guidelines to keep yourself and others safe and healthy. Finally, while your kids are at home and spending time on internet-enabled devices (cell phones, tablets, gaming systems, televisions), please make sure they are safe and protected. Be sure to follow our safety guidelines by practicing non-technical tips as well as using all tech tools, which include setting up parental controls on each and every device, and monitor the amount of screen time daily.
