Dear John, We hope with all our hearts that this note finds you healthy and strong. In these uncertain times, we wanted let you know that we are here for you – and here for the voters across the country whom we all care about so deeply. While we knew that 2020 was going to present challenges, the outbreak of COVID-19 has made the work of informing and helping voters more critical than ever. With so much at stake, it has never been so important to give every citizen in this country a voice. Despite – in fact, because of – the physical distancing now required, we all must be able to count on each other to get through this. Fear, isolation and mistrust are our enemies in this mission. Our team stands with you – and our community of supporters, volunteers, and partners – as we find unity, hope and power in this shared experience. Our most vulnerable voters are facing extreme logistical and financial challenges. Campuses are evacuated, making college voters harder to reach. Even if ID-issuing offices resume normal operations, many people will be deterred from visiting them. Confusion over when, where, and how to vote is already growing exponentially. It is going to take all of us to ensure that every voter can safely and confidently cast their ballot this year. We cannot postpone this urgent work. We are redoubling our efforts to equip and empower those who feel powerless in this difficult moment, and we hope you will join us. In the coming weeks, we will share opportunities for you to stay informed and deepen your involvement. One thing you can do right now: Find out if your state allows you to request a vote-by-mail ballot for your next election. Then get three of your family members and friends to do the same. This is our moment to show who we really are as a country. We will not be defeated. With our gratitude, Kathleen and the VoteRiders Team |
