Dear Young Center supporter,
We're only a few days into 2024 and already the White House and the Senate are negotiating a spending package that reportedly includes harmful proposals to further restrict people's right to seek asylum, including children's rights to safety. We need you to contact your Members of Congress and urge them to #SaveAsylum.
EMAIL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES HERE. [[link removed]]
If anti-asylum proposals are included in the spending package they could:
*
Expand
expedited
deportations,
almost
certainly
returning
children
and
their
families
to
danger.
*
Require
mandatory
detention
including
of
families
with
children.
*
Force
families
to
separate
to
seek
safety.
We can't let the lives of refugees and migrants be used as political bargaining chips while our nation’s asylum laws are whittled away. Make a New Years resolution to stand with all who seek safety and sign the petition below to #SaveAsylum.
