Today is a special day on our campaign: We are officially 58 days out from
the March 5 Jungle Primary.

58 days to win all 58 counties in California — and in less than four weeks
folks will begin to get their ballots in the mail.

California’s elections aren’t like most across the country. There is no
Democratic primary and Republican primary. There is one primary election
for candidates from all parties, and only the top two finishers advance to
the general election in November.

On top of that, we’re on the ballot twice — for a special primary election
to complete the remainder of Sen. Feinstein’s term, and a regular primary
election for the full six-year term that will follow it. And with a GOP
candidate surging in the polls, now is the most critical time yet for our
campaign.

I entered this U.S. Senate race because I believe the people of California
deserve a fighter. Someone who’s not afraid to step up to take on the
bullies and the tough fights. Someone with a proven record of getting
results. Someone effective.

That’s exactly what I’ve spent my career doing.

When corporations were destroying our environment and smuggling toxic
chemicals into Mexico from California, I took them to court — and we won.

I helped bring people together in the California Senate to update school
textbooks and expand the Metro Gold Line to improve public transportation.
I brought people together in Congress to expand access to affordable
health care.

I held Donald Trump accountable as the lead impeachment manager in his
first Senate trial, securing the first bipartisan indictment vote in
history.

And every day, I’m working to deliver results on the issues Californians
care most about — including lowering the cost of health care, building
more affordable housing, leveling the playing field for hardworking
families, and defending our democracy.

We are in an existential fight for the rule of law. I’m ready to be a
fearless fighter in the Senate to protect the country we love for
generations to come.
