This is Kountze native and Silsbee High School alumna Mariah Waters. I had the privilege of nominating her to the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2016.
On December 15, 2023, she graduated from additional training in San Antonio and is now F-16 B Course Combat Qualified. I’m told Mariah was the only female in her class to accomplish this feat. She’s one of approx. 103 female fighter pilots in the Air Force – talk about the elite!
