It’s Governor Roy Cooper here. Every week, I make decisions that directly impact the lives of North Carolinians. It’s a lot of responsibility and many of those decisions are difficult.

But appointing Justice Allison Riggs to the Supreme Court was an easy choice. A former Judge on the Court of Appeals, Justice Riggs is a brilliant attorney and a nationally renowned litigator who has spent her career fighting for fairness and defending people’s constitutional rights. In just her first few months on the Supreme Court, it’s clear I made the right call.

I strongly support Justice Allison Riggs for the Supreme Court. Now, I am humbly asking you to join me in supporting her campaign as she gears up for the March 5th primary.

It is not only her skills in the courtroom that make Justice Riggs a fantastic appointment; Allison also knows how to build successful movements. She knows that we need to reframe how we talk about judicial races and our Democratic values if we want to take back our appellate courts in the next few election cycles.

Now more than ever, we need leaders with a broad vision of where our state and country are headed. That’s why I’m campaigning for Democrats in 2024 just as hard as I would be if my name were on the ballot. Allison shares that sentiment; her commitment to our state and rebuilding our courts extends far beyond this November.
