The EPA released new rules last month to cut methane leaks from the oil and gas sector, a necessary and cost-effective way to curb the pollution causing climate change and to protect public health — and a big step forward in our long-running battle to reduce climate-warming pollution on every front.
Now, we’re awaiting the EPA’s release of its final rule limiting dangerous soot pollution, which we could see as early as this month. And we’re expecting the agency’s final rule to slash carbon pollution from power plants later this year. Both of these rules will go a long way toward cleaning up our air, protecting public health, and saving lives.
It’s shaping up to be a big year in our fight to kick climate-busting pollution — and we’ll be keeping you updated on ways to stay involved in this all-important battle.
