Liz Chaney discusses how Warren Davidson and Jim Jordan are threats to our democracy
It's January 6, 2024. On this day three years ago, a small group of about 2000 extremely peaceful and caring American citizen arrived on Capitol Hill as tourists, to hold hands and hug their national legislators, and to ensure the peaceful transfer of power. About 1200 of those "very fine people" are on extended vacations at federal resorts.

Well actually, the above narrative is a blatant lie, that has been repeated by dishonest legislators who want to revise and rewrite history. The truth is that for those of us whose sensibilities are rooted in truth, we understand the seriousness of what actually happened on January 6, 2021. This day will forever be etched in the minds of citizens and many legislators as the day America nearly lost the oldest Democracy in the world.

A violent venomous mob-like crowd of 2000 extremists (set fire to the US flag, defaced and destroyed government buildings and property, ransacked the offices of top officials, threatened death on many of those officials, waived Confederate flags, hung nooses, and scaled the walls of the Capitol Building). They stormed our nations capital, with the intent of staging an insurrection and the overthrow of American Democracy, in an attempt to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. Ultimately, seven people died as a result of the violence on that day. three of them were law enforcement officers. Our nations capital was under siege, and Capitol Hill became ground zero for a War on America! All of this was done at the behest of the disgraced President of the United States of America.

The people who showed up in DC that day were not peaceful tourists. They were a mass riotous mob of not-so very fine insurrectionists, who were brandishing weapons and symbols of hate, and were hellbent and determined to destroy all that we as a nation hold dear.

About 1265 of the rioters are being held accountable for their actions on that day, and have been charged with crimes. Some of them have already been found guilty and are serving sentences in federal prison.

People like Warren Davidson, the member of the House of Representatives from the 8th Congressional district, has been able to fly under the radar. Many people have ignored his role, and the role of his 146 Republican colleagues who also voted to overturn the will of the people. The problem is that a few days before voting to overturn the outcomes of the 2020 election, Davidson and his 146 colleagues took the oath of office to defend and protect the Constitution. The Constitution is the document that set forth the rules surrounding certifying the election. Essentially, Trumps sycophants and surrogates like Davidson and the rest of the Republican government gangsters violated the oath they took. According to the federal law, violating the provisions of the oath are punishable by removal from office and even incarceration. They were elected to office in the very same elections that they were protesting as illegitimate within days of being sworn in.

While most of us have been consumed with watching news about the former President, as he attempts to avoid accountability for his role on January 6, we are missing the opportunity to remove the other 147 violators and co-conspirators. In September, Former Republican Congresswoman, Liz Chaney specifically pointed out the continuing threat that Ohio legislators like Warren Davidson and Jim Jordan pose to American Democracy even now. She discussed how they have driven domestic threats and encouraged and defended political violence.

Davidson and Jordan are fascists and extremists who have aided and abetted Trump and they fan the flames of hatred in America. They MUST be defeated at the ballot box this year!

You can help by spreading the word that Vanessa Enoch is running to unseat Davidson in this election. Across the district, people already recognize her name. Name recognition is an important aspect of any election, however it is not enough. We need your help to get the message out about how dangerous Warren Davidson is to the 8th Congressional district and about how he is a threat to our democracy! On Tuesday (January 2), the Butler County Board of Elections certified my signatures and I am an official candidate for the March Primary Election. The Primary is on March 19th, which means that we have about 2 1/2 months to inform voters about why I am a better candidate for the 8th Congressional District. I have two Primary contenders for the Primary, so I need your support more than ever to ensure a win, so that I can move on to the General Election.

Most of our leadership team will be joining us again this year, but we have several opportunities for additional leadership team members, and we are also in need of tons of volunteers.
