John,

Today marks three years since the attack on our Capitol on January 6th, 2021. A dark day, but an important reminder of the fragility of our democracy.

I remember what I was doing on that day three years ago. I was doing work on finishing my basement and hadn’t even been checking my phone. When I took a break and turned on the news my heart sank

Watching the videos playing I could tell that many of the rioters storming and infiltrating the capitol were using tactics eerily reminiscent of those that I had learned in the military. What I was watching was not just a riot, but a carefully planned operation executed by operators with advanced training.

Don’t let the Q-Anon shaman’s from that day fool you. Many of the individuals on the ground that day were organized, armed, well trained, and extremely dangerous.

I was sick to my stomach with a feeling that our democracy might be falling apart before my very eyes.

On the day after 9/11, I volunteered to return to active duty in the US Marines. On January 6th and the days following I remember a similar feeling in my heart that I had to do something.

The previous year I had just finished up my first Congressional Campaign. It was a long race in which my family and I received death threats and my home was vandalized by partisan extremists similar to those that stormed the capitol. When we finished after election day I was ready to take a long and much needed break from campaign life.

Yet, when I saw the videos of the police officer being killed, of masked men kitted out in military gear climbing up the Capitol terraces, and brave capitol police holding the line, I knew that now was not the time to stand idly by.

I relaunched my 2022 campaign that same week and have been going at it non-stop to flip this seat ever since. The force driving me was not what I witnessed that day but the constant reminder that there will be another January 6th unless we take decisive action to stop it.

My opponent Lauren Boebert was one of the key planners and instigators of the January 6th attack. She went so far as to give reconnaissance tours of the Capitol to the men and women who would storm it days later, helping them to identify weak points in the building's security.

Preventing the next January 6th means removing its instigators and planners at every level. It will be a national effort from the presidency down to local and state governments and helping me remove Lauren Boebert is a key component of this effort. If Boebert remains in office come January, 2025, I assure you that she has vengeance on her mind and will work to ensure Trump’s return to power irregardless of who wins the election.

Can you support my campaign with a donation of $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can spare to help us remove Lauren Boebert and the next January 6th? If we can’t defeat MAGA this election, myself, and many experts far more knowledgeable than I fear it will be our last.

I look forward to working alongside you in this last-ditch effort to save our democracy.
