Dear John,

In this time of Corona crisis, some nations have turned to God for their answer. In Kenya President Kenyatta has written to citizens to state that the country cannot ignore the need to turn to God. "In these circumstances, as we have done in the past as a nation, we have always turned to God first....but we also turn to God to share our fears....(and) to seek His guidance and ever-present protection".

Our prayer at African Enterprise is that many more nations turn to God to seek His guidance during these challenging times. We thank God at AE for the prayers and support that you have made possible to see leaders reached during our mission initiatives, and that some of these leaders are publically appealing people to turn to God. Our future in Christ is certain and eternal.

As an evangelistic group, we believe that today is the day to turn to the Lord and for people to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour in Africa and across the world. During this time, as mass gatherings are reduced in the near future, our plan is to reach out through love and good works to show that in the midst of suffering, anxiety and loss, God's love shines through and compels us to care for others.

Our international team leader Stephen Mbogo offers the following words to us during this time:

The relevance of the gospel and our mission. Now, even more than in “ordinary” times, the world around us is in need of the peace and hope offered in the Gospel. Our gospel remains relevant and the world has a great need to keep hearing about the Saviour. This is the time for Christians to show and tell of the eternal life available through Jesus.

The reality of our hope. As believers, our hope is anchored not on the temporary joys, nor rocked by the challenges or catastrophes that visit the world. We have a hope that is anchored on the historical and eternal God who does not change. It is a hope that remains relevant, whatever the circumstances. This hope is in sharp contrast to the ‘fleeting’ treasures of the world (which moths and rust will destroy - Matthew 6:19-22).

The call to sustain missional engagements. We will remain steadfast in offering hope and rest to a world in need. We will be on the lookout for “novel” opportunities for gospel sharing that the “novel corona virus” can avail. The virus of sin is far more deadly and widespread than corona virus, and we have been entrusted with the cure.

Fervent prayer. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

Our request for prayer:

Africa's challenges are compounded by devastating locust plagues, droughts and floods jeopardising food supply.

Please pray:

*
that we will be able to share the love of Jesus to them through our medical facilities, distribution of aid, helping neighbours, training pastors and churches, and that all our staff will be safe at this time.
*
For all countries to turn to God during this crisis
*
For all the people whose work is jeopardised during this crisis across the world
* For the safety and wellbeing of those most at risk from this pandemic
* That all our team will glorify God through our continued and sustained outreach activities.

Thank you and God bless

Ben Campbell
