Lesko Meetings this Week

Recently, I presented Congressional Recognitions to Om Bankar and Aayush Abhilash for their 1^st place selection in the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. Their app, FinEdForKids, provides students resources to achieve financial literacy at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

I also present a Congressional Recognition to Nathan Narrik for his 2^nd place selection in the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. His app, The Arizona Clothes Line, enables users to know exactly how long it would take for them to dry their clothes outside and tell them how much carbon emissions they save by doing so.

I also gave Congressional Recognitions to Genesis Carillo, Kenna Yoshimura, and Martin Shepard for their 3^rd place selection in the 2023 Congressional App Challenge. Their app, Sole Food, allows users to search healthy recipes based on using a single word or food item on their site, which also provides the ingredient list and directions for cooking.

GET THE FACTS: Biden's Border Saga

More than 6 million illegal immigrants currently sit on ICE’s non-detained docket as compared to 3.7 million in FY 2021. Meanwhile, the Biden Administration continues to do nothing to increase security at our Southern Border. Instead, President Biden has chosen to focus on amnesty for illegal immigrants and open-border policies. President Biden has proven he has no plan to deter illegal immigration or solve the multitude of humanitarian problems the border crisis has created. Still, House Republicans passed H.R. 2 and we have done everything we can to increase border security. It’s now time for the White House and Senate to do the same.

Casework Highlight

A constituent contacted our office because she was not receiving payments owed to her by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as the executor of an Estate claim. Our office contacted the VA and inquired on the missing payments.  As a result, the VA resumed her payments and she also received back payments.
