At a time when Alaskans are frightened and looking to our elected leaders for decisive action to address the coronavirus crisis, Don Young dismissed the threat at a campaign event at a Palmer senior center on Friday.

Instead of doing his job and voting on an important bill to fight the spread of the coronavirus and help working families who are impacted, Young flew across the country, through a major airport, to encourage a crowd of 50 seniors to carry on with their everyday activities. He referred to the pandemic as the “beer virus” and blamed “hysteria” in the media for the crisis, saying it’s been “blown out of proportion.”

Coronavirus isn’t a partisan issue and this behavior from Don Young puts Alaskans at risk.
