Our democracy remains under attack. As I write this email to you, many extreme politicians are seeking to divide the American people, sow distrust in our elections, and destroy the very foundations of our democratic institutions.

Even three years after the violent and deadly insurrection of January 6, 2021, far too many leaders are risking the future of our republic for the sake of power and their own short-term political survival.

As a former federal law enforcement officer, former CIA case officer, and current Member of Congress, I have taken an oath multiple times to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution. I know what is at stake — and I know you do too.

With the 2024 election just around the corner and former President Trump running to once again become the Republican nominee, we cannot afford to be complacent when it comes to defending our values, our voting rights, and our democracy.
