Team,
Many of the minimum wage ballot measure campaigns we’ve won included annual adjustments to wages based on economic factors like cost of living and inflation. On January 1st the minimum wage increased in 22 states – and thanks to your help, the lives of working families in states across the country will be better this year because of the support you gave us.
Here’s what you helped us to achieve:

Here at The Fairness Project, passing progressive policies is a top priority — that includes a livable wage. With help from partners on the ground and immeasurable support from people like you, we're proud to say that we played a part in securing a higher minimum wage in 8 states and municipalities!
We’re ready to continue to take on ballot measures that bring the minimum wage to a livable one, state by state. Will you chip in to help us continue this fight? [[link removed]]

The federal minimum wage has not increased since 2009. Despite rising prices on food, rent, and the general cost of living, the federal minimum wage remains at $7.25. Despite numerous efforts to increase the federal minimum wage, Congress has failed to pass anything due to partisan gridlock.
But thank goodness for direct democracy. Where Congress fails to act, the state legislatures and direct democracy have picked up the pieces. We saw a need and took action for the people, and now millions of people will receive wage increases that reflect the cost of living in their states.
When the people are empowered to show up to the polls and make their voices heard, progressive policies almost always win. Will you help us fight for fairness nationwide via ballot measures by chipping in $10 or more today? [[link removed]]
