We can defeat dangerous, extreme policy and make Missouri better.
JOHN,
Missouri has been getting national attention lately, and as you may have expected it isn’t positive…
Right now, our state is facing some very serious problems that urgently need action from our elected leaders:
Maternal mortality is persistently high, outpacing the national average.
We have one of the most restrictive and extreme abortion bans in the entire country—putting women and families at risk and undermining our world-class healthcare network in the St. Louis region.
Economic growth continues to decline in Missouri even though 7 of the 8 states that border Missouri show positive jobs and wage growth.
Unfortunately, the GOP majority in Jefferson City isn’t interested in solving these issues. They would rather wage culture wars than do the hard work of coming together and building consensus around real solutions to problems.
I’m not interested in dividing people. I want to serve, to work for the people, and do my best to solve the problems that hold us back.
Republican politicians in Missouri have enjoyed a supermajority since 2016. They seem to think that they can legislate with impunity, pursuing unpopular ideas that they never dared to talk about on the campaign trail…because if they did, they wouldn’t get elected.
But when they try to take away personal rights and freedoms, when they try to destroy public education, and when they try to cancel our ability to have our voices heard through ballot initiatives—that’s when we must fight back with everything we have.
