Today marks the three-year anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, a day that will be remembered as a dark stain in our nation’s history. Ensuring such a violent assault on our democracy never repeats itself should be an American imperative.
Sadly, Donald Trump and his MAGA acolytes, like Lauren Boebert, have taken over the Colorado GOP and share his vision for the future of America – a future with fewer freedoms, where our voices are restricted, and elections are harder to vote in.
Colorado is fortunate to be home to leaders like Congressman Jason Crow, who courageously helped his colleagues get to safety on January 6th, and of course, the voters of Colorado, who time and time again have banded together to reject MAGA extremists and the anti-democratic movement they represent.
The reality is that the threats to our democracy are as alive today as they were on January 6th, 2021. Now is not the time to be complacent, and we are going to need everyone from Democrats and Independents to Republicans who are sick of Trumpism to come together to protect our sacred freedoms and democratic values.
We’ve stood up to these threats before and won. In 2024, we’ll only be able to do it with everyone, including you, standing up for democracy. Are you with us?
