Today, the Maryland General Assembly adjourned sine die from the 2020 Regular Legislative Session.

LEGAL & LEGISLATION Maine: Legislature Adjourns Sine Die

Amid concerns of the COVID-19 virus, the Maine Legislature adjourned sine die on March 17th, 2020.

LEGAL & LEGISLATION New Hampshire: Legislative Session Suspended

The General Court announced it will suspend session until April 10th, 2020, due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus. No hearings or floor sessions will be scheduled during this time.

BREITBART New Orleans Mayor Issues Coronavirus Order Allowing Ban on Sale, Transportation of Firearms

She signed a follow-up proclamation on March 16, 2020, further emphasizing her emergency powers to “suspend or limit the sale, dispensing, or transportation, of alcoholic beverages.”

LEGAL & LEGISLATION Illinois: Chenoa May Consider Restricting Second Amendment

The City of Chenoa is holding a special meeting on March 19th to consider a Local State of Emergency Ordinance. Though details of this proposed ordinance are not yet available, it is possible that it will include the power to ban transfers of firearms and ammunition, similar to what the City of Champaign passed last week.

LEGAL & LEGISLATION Iowa: Legislative Session Suspended

The Legislature announced it will suspend session for 30 days due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 virus. No hearings or floor sessions will be scheduled during this time.
