Greetings!
One of the most important pillars of the work of Vote Smart is our commitment to nonpartisanship. Other organizations have bigger budgets. Other organizations have wealthy millionaires bankrolling their operations. Those voter education groups do amazing work and they’ve made the decision to advocate for certain policies and take very strident positions on certain political controversies.
For 30 years, Vote Smart has remained committed to a very absolute prohibition on advocating for particular parties, candidates or issues. We simply believe that we can only ask for your sacred trust in our work if we hold ourselves to the highest bar of nonpartisanship and unbiased research into the facts all Americans deserve for a democracy to flourish.
On this anniversary of the events of January 6, 2021, let us reaffirm our defining principles of nonpartisanship and service to all Americans.
In the years since, I am proud that Vote Smart continues to provide the best research and facts concerning the events of January 6th to all Americans. We are happy to share that with you today. This research is part of our ongoing work to ensure that no American is denied democracy’s crucial information–on elections, legislation, campaign finance, public statements or basic biographical information on politicians. We maintain this, ready to use, for free thanks to the selfless support of your neighbors, your co-workers and other members of your community. Over 97% of our donations are less than $250.
