Hi John, Three years ago today, right-wing extremists, led by former President Trump, assaulted the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt our sacred democratic process and the peaceful transfer of power. In fact, one of the folks who stormed the Capitol on January 6th is a Republican running to represent Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District. Yeah, seriously, we’re officially running against a January 6th insurrectionist. |
Donald Trump and his MAGA extremist movement are still very much a threat to our democracy. Let’s be clear: the January 6th Insurrection was a violent assault on the very foundation of our democracy; those who willingly participated in it should be held accountable, not sent to Congress. The stakes in 2024 are clear. In our district, in Arizona, and throughout our entire country, the future of our democracy will be on the ballot. The good news is that I know if we come together for a common purpose and common cause, we will win. I know this because we’ve done it before in 2020 and 2022. We can, we must, and we will do it again in 2024.
