We wish we could say that the work to save democracy would be easier in 2024, but it won’t.

Three years after Donald Trump summoned a mob to Washington, D.C. to try to stop the peaceful transfer of power, a new survey of Republican voters reveals that loyalty to Donald Trump is strengthening and that even more voters believe his lies about the January 6 insurrection.

Never forget January 6. An assault on democracy.

It is a sobering call for us to recommit ourselves to the hard work of recruiting and mobilizing as many people as we can to defeat Donald Trump.

Here's what Washington Post reports:

  • Three years after the Jan. 6 attack, Republicans are more sympathetic to those who stormed the U.S. Capitol and more likely to absolve Donald Trump of responsibility for that day.

  • Republicans are showing increased loyalty to the former president as he campaigns for reelection and fights criminal charges over his attempt to stay in power after losing in 2020.
