On the anniversary of the attack of MAGA extremists on our nation’s Capitol, we have to remember that these radical right-wing attempts to undermine our democracy continue to this day.

Donald Trump still falsely claims the 2020 election was “stolen” from him and does not take accountability for his actions that led to January 6. He brags about an attack on our nation’s democracy. And now, he’s running again for President to continue his career built on fraud and lies.

During his four years in office, Donald Trump failed us, repeatedly. His series of failures has set our country back significantly. He put his own interests over the country’s, and his own petty grievances over people’s freedoms. And while Trump is fighting for his own power, he’ll work to take away our freedoms — abortion rights, health care, the freedom to vote. He is going to spend the next ten months looking at us in our eyes to elect him again to do nothing for us.

I’ll work every day to make sure he doesn’t get that chance again.

Here in the state of Maryland, we've created momentum for more opportunities. We have the lowest unemployment rate in the entire country, and we are beginning to systematically address the racial wealth gap through our partnership with the Biden administration.

I am proud to support President Biden, who has fought for our rights every step of the way. While Trump continues to spew lies, President Biden is rolling up his sleeves to fight for the American people. While he faces a critical election this year, I hope you’ll join in supporting our work to protect democracy, and help ensure free and fair elections that reflect our democratic values, for our future and for our childrens’ futures.
