Friend, three years ago today, I was rushing out of the U.S. Capitol with an oxygen mask on after violent insurrectionists stood just feet away from me and my colleagues in the House chambers.

This felt like a nightmare, but it was a reality driven by the actions of Donald Trump and politicians who embraced his "Big Lie" and misinformation campaigns.

We have no choice but to resoundingly defeat the MAGA agenda by electing leaders who will stand up for voting rights, refuse special interest donations, and protect our democratic process so January 6th never happens again. These are all reasons why I'm running for Senate.

This anniversary is a reminder of how fragile our democracy is and how action is needed to ensure that our equality, freedom, and peaceful transfer of power is not undermined.
