This week, Pennsylvania State Senator Art Haywood filed an ethics complaint to have the Senate Ethics Committee investigate Republican Doug Mastriano’s actions leading up to and on January 6, 2021. The complaint was based on a CREW report from last spring.
Senator Doug Mastriano is an election denier who, despite having taken an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, supported and appears to have participated in the January 6th insurrection against it. Mastriano has expressed no remorse for his actions on that day, even going so far as to continue to push the “Big Lie” during his unsuccessful run for governor in 2022.
CREW’s policy counsel, Brie Sparkman, spoke in support of the ethics complaint, saying “Only by holding insurrectionists accountable can we hope to prevent future violent attacks on the United States Capitol and state capitols like the one we are standing in today in Harrisburg.”
John, she’s right. CREW is fighting for accountability not only for Donald Trump, but in states across the country. Help us hold Trump and all insurrectionists accountable by making a donation to CREW today → [[link removed]]

Today is the three year anniversary of the attack on the Capitol—but we remember the events of January 6th, 2021 clearly. And we remember committing immediately to never allow a similar attack to happen again.
For CREW, that meant launching a nationwide effort to hold January 6th insurrectionists accountable, meticulously tracking corporate donations to the Sedition Caucus and bringing lawsuits under Section Three of the 14th Amendment.

These are just a few of the efforts we’ve taken to make sure we hold insurrectionists on every level accountable. More actions are to come, and we have our wins to defend.
Donald Trump is appealing to the U.S. Supreme Court to remain on the ballot, but we won’t back down from our fight to hold him accountable to the law. The stakes are too high.
