I’ve spent the past fifteen years serving North Carolina. I’ve advocated for consumers, worked to keep communities and families safe, held corporate wrongdoers to account, and defended reproductive and voting rights.

North Carolina is also my home. My wife Anna and I both grew up here. We raised our three kids here. They all went to North Carolina public schools, just like Anna and I did.

I love this state and think it’s the best place to live, work, and raise a family. But I’m deeply concerned about the path our Republican supermajority legislature is taking us down.

They’re stripping us of our rights and attempting to institute far-right extremist policies that would drag us backward.

And if we lose the Governor’s Office to the GOP, they could get away with all of it.

John, this race truly is a toss-up. Experts are calling it the most competitive — and most important — governor’s race of 2024. Republicans are ready to go to any lengths to defeat me, and they could win.
