Today – on the third anniversary of the January 6, 2021 attack on the United States Capitol – we are reminded of the fragility of our democracy and the importance of standing up against those who seek to undermine it.
Last year, I faced an opponent who denied the results of the 2020 election, a stance that directly threatens the foundation of our democratic process. There are candidates across the country on the ballot this November who continue to attack our democracy and refuse to acknowledge the results of a free and fair election.
The continued prevalence of this rhetoric is a haunting reminder that we must remain vigilant, united, and committed to protecting the values that make our country strong.
