Three years ago today, rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of a free and fair election.

Aided and abetted by MAGA Republicans like Wisconsin’s own Ron Johnson, Donald Trump incited an insurrection in an effort to halt the counting of electoral votes. It was a months-long plot against American democracy that very nearly succeeded.

And to this day, the GOP continues to excuse, downplay, and even encourage Trump’s Big Lie.
